New Wings Unfurl these broken wings tonight, Mend the limbs and a rested mind. A new quest sought, a new fight, Break away from feelings that only bind. Help me fly again I pray, Let me soar, free and high. Keep my fears all at bay, As I heal my heart with you nigh. The months, passages of time, Wrecked by a few passing weeks. I seek your thoughts for pennies or a dime, While my soul is an engine under tweaks. I have clutched and squeezed, twisted and turned, Forcing a deluded self-supporting fantasy. It's time, it seems, that which to be learned, To find that for me a true ecstasy. Every hurt I bring, my wing are wracked, Though forgiveness and support are ever present. Can my path be found and thoroughly tracked? Back to find happiness and no more dissent. I look to the sky to freely give, My love to whom I find up in that space. You, one I care for and watch, please forgive, I do not wish to vanish without a trace. Copyright 2007 |
