Shadowy Dreams The shadows drive nightmares unto our thoughts; life’s treacheries to us do trick and fool. The pains we seek to drown with soothes and draughts, diverting truths and tales that are most cruel. But light shall gleam in that most dark inside, a pain to bear but worth for end of all. To blind those held and bound, distraught with pride, a lift for those whose wings fail a vast fall. And dreams will wake, made of splendor and peace, A quest most sought though fraught with deterrents. Darkness and pain might seek their true release, One must be steadfast on the battlements. From sludge and muck the dreams should always be, a new bastion of hope from dark in me. Copyright 2007
